KOLADE DOMINATE – THE GOLDEN VOICE OF THE SOUTH WEST
The art of broadcasting has become more dynamic with new voices emerging on radio and the veterans oiling the wheels every step of the way. Daily, we hear various voices on air; some great, some half baked, some amazing and some don’t just cut it but there are some voices that stay trailblazing.
One of the such with the soul of the old and sonorous voice is Kolade Dominate, whom a few call Mr Dominate. Also referred to as The Golden Voice of the South West, Kolade has proven beyond reasonable doubt that domination doesn’t really matter where you are as long as you have greatness in sight, work hard, work smart, pray for grace and make a difference. The Mass Communication and Digital Multimedia Technology Graduate has studied, developed, mastered his craft with almost a decade of experience in view.
Kolade Dominate made his debut in 2008, and rose to fame in 2014 after the release of his Dominate 2.0 featuring Oritsefemi. He has kept the torch aloft and has ensured quality over quantity remains his watchword. A team player dedicated towards the showcasing of talents and creativity.
The down to earth and easy going OAP prefers to be off the radar and stay anonymous in a world where broadcasters have taken to social media promoting themselves thereby become the news instead of being the ones reporting the news… “I’m just a regular guy who wants to buy roasted plantain on the road, be free and real but these days you’ve got to be careful because everyone is a spy, next thing you are in the news trending, I miss the days where we talked about what made the news and not be in it actually.”
In 2018, he was recognized as one of the most influential entertainment personality in the south west part of Nigeria. He was the host of Raypower 95.1fm Ibadan most listened to program “Power Play” a drive time show and also served as the Head of Programs and Production until November 30, 2018 when he resigned and moved to Splash 105.5FM Ibadan where he currently handles the Smooth Home Drive amongst other programs.
