Renowned Nigerian actress, Lota Chukwu is inspiring the next generation of thespians to be deliberate about their dreams in the cover story for the February issue of ‘The Zebra’ magazine (a youth-focused publication building a new generation of young achievers).

The award-winning actress, food show host/creator, and health/fitness enthusiast graces the cover looking radiant and flawless in a polka dot outfit by young designer Olabisi Odunne, styled by ‘Stylepundit’ and photographed by Nora Awolowo. The actress’ beautiful smile shines bright as she flashes it on the digital cover of the magazine where she is seen adorned in gleaming gold.

In her cover story, Lota takes her young readers behind the cameras and into her life and journey to stardom. “I’ve always wanted to be a star. I mean, I did not know how it was going to happen, or when, or even what career path exactly to take to stardom, but I always knew I would become a star – that was one thing I was always confident about.” Lota explains in the issue.

Describing some of the key steps she took that led to her success, the actress explained that “After I decided that I wanted to be an actress… What was next? I decided to move to Lagos. I had no family, no friends, just me, and the big city… but I decided to still move to Lagos – where ‘things happen’… that’s why I always refer to myself as ‘Little Girl, Flashy Lights’, because I made this decision to move, against all odds”. “You have to be willing to be very intentional about your goals and be prepared to make sacrifices” she added.

Lota Chukwu was instantly shot to the limelight after starring in the popular Nigerian TV series, ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ where she played the role of “Kiki”. The resilient actor who started her career since 2011, has starred in many movies such as: The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, Falling, Fine Girl, The Arbitration and Dognapped. From 2017, Lota created and hosted her food shows ‘Lota Takes’, ‘Lota Chow Files’ and ‘Lota Takes Short’ which explore her love for food.
