Wizkid Sets New Record As He Wins Soul Train Award For The Second Time
It would be recalled that the singer who was featured on the “Brown Skin Girl” track which is off Beyonce’s The Lion King: The Gift album was nominated for two categories; Best Collaboration and The Ashford & Simpson’s Songwriter Award at the 2019 Soul Train Awards. He then became the first and only Nigerian artites to win a Soul Train award after winning The Ashford & Simpson’s Songwriter Award.
At the 2020 Soul Train Awards, Wizkid alongside Beyoncé won the award for Video of the year. The event which aired on BET saw Chris brown emerge top winner with 4 wins (including Best R&B/Soul male artist and Song of the Year) out of 12 categories, followed by H.E.R who won 2 awards (including Best R&B/Soul female artist).
