In the music industry, we’ve seen this happen a lot of times. Who else thought Wizkid and Banky W would ever go their separate ways? What happened years after? The rest is history.
In this article, we review the Top 5 Artiste/CEO breakups that broke our hearts and examine the chance of a reconciliation.
Let’s go.
1. Wizkid & Banky W
This was the best that period. Banky W, one of the finest vocalist with his protege with that sweet voice beaming light and infusing energy into any song he hopped on.
Wizkid was the poster boy for EME then and backed by the experienced Banky, it was a relationship made in heaven. Regrettably, they parted ways and it’s paining us till now.
Who else wants them back?
2. Kizz Daniel & Emperor Geezy
Kizz Daniel never had that smooth relationship with Emperor Geezy.
All through his stay in Gworldwide, Emperor acted as a boss and Kizz Daniel was like a recruit, a cash cow that was milked regularly to get money. But all through his stay at Gworldwide, it was a period laden with hit records.
The New Era is still anyone’s favorite over NBS as it was the album that properly introduced Kizz Daniel to the Nigerian Music populace.
3. D’banj & Don Jazzy
The MoHits era was probably the best era where we had music content full of quality. Where everyone in the label was shining and no one was obstructing anyone’s shine.
So, it was so sad to see Don Jazzy and D’banj breaking up and that led to the end of a Multinational business empire. Lowkey, we still miss that kind of relationship in the music industry.
4. 2Baba & Kennis Music
2baba left Kennis Music headed by the experienced industry head, Kenny Ogungbe and afterwards, 2face has not been consistent with his music.
There were days where 2face could drop several songs in a year but now he’s taken a backseat, freed up space for the younger acts and only drops tracks a couple of times per year.
Could 2face and Kennis Music reunite for just one last album?
5. Brymo & M.I
Brymo was the new kid with that sonorous voice always blessing tracks. His voice was like an essential on every track and he was the main reason why we lover Ice Prince’s Oleku.
But then, he never lived up to his potential under the tutelage of M.I and sought to leave. It degenerated to bickering and a court case.
Brymo has gone solo but Chocolate City is doing poorly and are losing artistes.
