Kanayo O. Kanayo Decries Bias Against Talented Actors in Nollywood
Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has expressed deep concern over what he described as the resurgence of bias against talented actors in the Nigerian movie industry.
Speaking on the current state of Nollywood, Kanayo lamented that many hardworking and gifted performers are being sidelined, not because of their lack of skill, but due to favoritism, cliques, and industry politics.
According to him, this unhealthy trend is slowing down Nollywood’s growth and discouraging upcoming actors who are determined to build their craft on merit. Kanayo stressed that the film industry should thrive on creativity, talent, and professionalism, rather than on bias or connections.
The actor, who has consistently used his platform to advocate for fairness and integrity in Nollywood, called on stakeholders to prioritize true talent and storytelling over personal sentiments. He emphasized that only by supporting genuine creativity can Nollywood continue to compete globally and inspire the next generation of entertainers.
