“I Broke the Jinx of 29 Years in Ekiti” — Governor Biodun Oyebanji Boasts Major Governance Milestone
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has declared that his administration has successfully broken a 29-year-old jinx that had hindered the state’s growth and unity since its creation. Speaking during a special broadcast in Ado-Ekiti, the governor said his government has achieved unprecedented milestones through collaboration, inclusiveness, and continuity in governance.
Governor Oyebanji noted that since Ekiti State was created in 1996, no administration had managed to maintain sustained harmony and political stability between the executive, legislative, and traditional institutions until now. According to him, this synergy has paved the way for accelerated infrastructural development, improved workers’ welfare, and an enabling environment for investors.
He emphasized that his leadership style—anchored on humility, transparency, and collective ownership—has allowed him to consolidate the visions of past administrations while implementing new developmental policies. “For the first time in 29 years, Ekiti is speaking with one voice,” Oyebanji said. “We have moved from politics of division to politics of progress.”
Under his tenure, major road projects, rural electrification schemes, youth empowerment initiatives, and educational reforms have gained momentum across the state. Oyebanji also credited the people of Ekiti for their unwavering support, assuring them of his continued commitment to inclusive governance and accountability.
Political analysts have described Oyebanji’s statement as a reflection of Ekiti’s newfound unity and continuity, particularly under a political atmosphere where frequent leadership changes had previously disrupted development plans.
The governor concluded by urging residents to keep supporting his administration’s vision of transforming Ekiti into a model of excellence in governance, education, and economic empowerment.
