APC Targets 1,350,000 Members in Oyo, Jigawa as E-Registration Begins
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an ambitious plan to register 1,350,000 new members across Oyo and Jigawa states following the rollout of its electronic membership registration (e-registration) exercise.
The party disclosed that the move is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening its grassroots presence, improving internal data management, and expanding its support base ahead of future political activities.
According to party officials, the e-registration initiative is designed to replace outdated manual processes with a centralised digital system that allows for accurate documentation of members, easier verification, and improved transparency within the party structure.
In Oyo State, the APC is targeting a significant surge in membership, with leaders expressing confidence that the digital registration process will attract youths, professionals, and first-time political participants. A similar momentum is expected in Jigawa State, where the party already enjoys a strong political foothold.
Party stakeholders explained that the adoption of technology would not only enhance efficiency but also reduce cases of duplication and disputes associated with traditional registration methods.
“The e-registration process is a step toward modernising our party and ensuring that every member is properly captured in our database,” a party source said.
The APC has urged its supporters and prospective members in both states to actively participate in the exercise, stressing that registration is free and accessible through designated centres and digital platforms.
