NBA Condemns Misuse Of Criminal Process In Civil, Defamation Cases

The Nigerian Bar Association has strongly condemned the growing misuse of criminal proceedings in the handling of civil disputes and defamation-related matters across Nigeria.

In a statement addressing the issue, the association expressed concern over what it described as the increasing trend of using law enforcement agencies and criminal charges to settle disputes that should ordinarily remain within the civil legal process.
