Mohammed Abacha, son of former Head of State Sani Abacha, has lost the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kano State.

According to reports, Muhammad Bello Dalhatu emerged winner of the PDP governorship primary after defeating Mohammed Abacha during the party’s internal election process.

The Chairman of the PDP Kano State Governorship Primary Election Committee, Umar Hadejia, reportedly announced that the exercise was conducted peacefully and in accordance with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.

Results released after the primary election showed that Mohammed Abacha polled 749 votes, while Muhammad Bello Dalhatu secured 2,233 votes to emerge victorious.

Party officials also reportedly commended delegates, aspirants, security agencies, and stakeholders for maintaining order throughout the exercise.
