Davido to Release Sixth Studio Album ‘ORIADÉ’ on July 31
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially announced the release of his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, which is scheduled to drop on July 31, 2026. The announcement marks a significant milestone as the award-winning singer celebrates 15 years since his rise to stardom.
Davido unveiled the project through a cinematic teaser shared across his social media platforms, accompanied by the message: “ORIADÉ. 31st July. The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne.” The announcement has since generated excitement among fans eagerly awaiting his next body of work.
The title “ORIADÉ” is derived from the Yoruba words Ori (head or destiny) and Adé (crown), symbolising purpose, honour, royalty, and destiny. According to Davido, the album reflects his personal journey, faith, family, and the experiences that have shaped his career over the past 15 years.
Speaking in an interview with Billboard, the five-time Grammy nominee revealed that ORIADÉ represents a return to the signature African sound that first introduced him to the world.
“The recent music I’ve been working on is really, really African. I’m taking it back to my original Davido kind of music,” the singer said.
The forthcoming album follows the success of his fifth studio project, 5ive, released in 2025. That album produced several hit records, earned critical acclaim, and further strengthened Davido’s position as one of Africa’s biggest musical exports.
Although the official tracklist and featured artists have yet to be revealed, anticipation is already building among fans, with many expecting collaborations featuring both African and international stars.
As one of the pioneers of Afrobeats’ global rise, Davido continues to push Nigerian music onto the world stage. With ORIADÉ, the singer hopes to usher in a new era while celebrating the legacy he has built throughout his remarkable career.
