I Won’t Sacrifice Comfort for Fashion – Arikegold
Popular Nollywood actress and event planner, Folorunsho Adeola, better known as Arikegold, has opened up about her approach to fashion, stressing that comfort remains more important to her than following trends.
The actress, who is known for her stylish appearance and work in the Yoruba movie industry, believes fashion should make a person feel confident and comfortable rather than force them into outfits they cannot comfortably wear.
Arikegold’s comments are consistent with her previously stated approach to personal style. In an earlier interview, she explained that she prefers to wear whatever makes her comfortable and would not expose her body simply in the name of fashion.
For Arikegold, looking good does not necessarily mean sacrificing comfort.
The actress has maintained that her fashion choices should reflect her personality while allowing her to feel at ease. Her position also highlights the growing conversation around personal style, where individuals increasingly choose outfits based on confidence, practicality and self-expression rather than simply following popular trends.
Arikegold has also been consistent about maintaining her personal boundaries. In previous interviews, she said she would not accept nude roles, regardless of the financial reward attached to them, citing her cultural background and personal values.
Beyond acting, Arikegold has built interests outside Nollywood, including event planning and other business activities.
She began her acting career professionally in 2007 and studied Mass Communication at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic before obtaining a degree in Philosophy from the University of Ibadan.
Over the years, she has featured in numerous Yoruba-language productions and has also taken on responsibilities as a producer. Her movie Ike was one of the projects she produced and was described in an earlier interview as a work that helped project her further into the limelight.
Arikegold’s position on fashion reflects a broader philosophy she has carried throughout her career — staying true to herself rather than allowing outside expectations to dictate her choices.
While fashion continues to evolve and celebrities remain under pressure to keep up with changing trends, the actress appears more interested in finding a balance between style, confidence and comfort.
