Johnny Drille Creates Coca-Cola 75th Anniversary Anthem With 75-Person Choir

Mavin Records singer and songwriter Johnny Drille has joined Coca-Cola’s 75th anniversary celebration in Nigeria with a special anthem featuring a 75-member Nigerian choir.

Released as part of the beverage brand’s anniversary campaign, the song brings together Drille’s signature warm vocals and the harmonies of 75 Nigerians from different parts of the country, creating a musical tribute to Coca-Cola’s seven-and-a-half decades in Nigeria.

The choice of a 75-member choir was deliberate.

Each choir member represents one year of Coca-Cola’s presence in Nigeria since the company began operations in the country in 1951.

According to Drille, the diversity of the choir was one of the things that excited him most about the project.

“I was so excited to work on this because the choir has 75 Nigerians from different parts of the country,” he said.

The collaboration reflects the anniversary campaign’s focus on different generations and the shared experiences Nigerians have had with the brand over the years.

The project also connects naturally with Drille’s musical background. Before becoming one of Mavin Records’ recognisable voices, the singer grew up singing in a church choir. He also worked with a community choir on his debut album, Before We Fall Asleep.

His experience with choral music therefore provided a strong foundation for a project built around collective voices and harmony.

Drille became widely known after participating in MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2013 and was subsequently signed to Mavin Records by Don Jazzy in 2017.

His catalogue includes songs such as “Wait For Me” and “Loving Is Harder”, while his Johnny’s Room Live concerts have become a notable part of his career.

The anthem, titled “We Still Dey,” centres on Coca-Cola’s longevity and its connection with Nigerians across generations.

The song highlights the brand’s presence at familiar Nigerian occasions, including birthdays, weddings, family gatherings, parties and other everyday moments.

The track runs for more than four minutes and combines Drille’s vocals with percussion, guitar and the layered sound of the choir.

A Hausa rap contribution from Sas Lil’Hardy and additional regional influences further reinforce the song’s celebration of Nigeria’s cultural diversity.

The project is positioned as more than a conventional advertising jingle.

Coca-Cola’s 75-year journey in Nigeria has unfolded alongside several generations of consumers, and the anthem attempts to capture that history through music and shared memories.

The company has also marked the milestone with special anniversary packaging, including limited-edition 60cl bottles of Coca-Cola Less Sugar, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Fanta and Sprite. The anniversary packs offer 20 per cent more product than the standard 50cl bottles.

Coca-Cola Nigeria has also rolled out other consumer-focused activities as part of the anniversary celebration.

For Drille, the project brings together several elements that have defined his musical identity — emotional storytelling, live performance and choral music.

The 75-member choir gives the anthem a communal feel, while Drille’s vocals provide the personal and nostalgic tone that carries the song.

By combining voices from different parts of Nigeria, the project seeks to turn Coca-Cola’s 75-year Nigerian history into a shared musical experience.

The “Coca-Cola 75th Anthem” is now available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Audiomack.
