Actor Segun Arinze discusses his reasons for leaving the music profession
Nollywood actor Segun Arinze has disclosed his reasons for quitting the music business.
Arinze claimed that he left music to concentrate on acting rather than failing at it in a recent episode of “Curiosity Made Me Ask,” which was hosted by content producer Bae U Barbie.
“I was a successful musician. I voluntarily left the music industry. I would have gone on if I had wanted to perform music.
“I attend Obafemi Awolowo University in Ife to study theater art. I did well, therefore I left school. I choose to pursue my music on my own initiative. When I made the decision to focus on my acting profession, I did just that,” he said.
Arinze declared that he would eventually return to the music business.
Nevertheless, he made it clear that passion, not business interests, would drive his return to music.
“Music is something I can always return to.” I was successful. I have two albums. I put my musical career on hold. I’ll return when I think it’s time. I continue to sing. The voice remains.
“I’m going to return to music, but I won’t be doing so for financial gain. I’ll go back to singing because I want to, not because I want to get rich,” he continued.
