Afrobeats star Asake announces his own label and confirms leaving YBNL.
Ahmed Ololade, a Nigerian musician better known by his stage name Asake, has announced that he is leaving YBNL Nation.
Rumors circulated that Asake had abruptly broken up with Olamide’s YBNL.
By releasing his most recent single, “Why Love,” on his label, Giran Republic, Asake made his exit from YBNL known.
In his first single of the year, “Military,” the musician paid homage to Olamide, putting an end to rumors that the two were at odds.
Asake became a member of YBNL Nation in February of 2022. He signed a distribution deal with Empire in July 2022.
Asake is still bound by his contract with Empire even after he left the YBNL.
