Akpabio Aide Takes Senate President’s Free Medical Outreach to Lagos, Targets 700 Beneficiaries
An aide to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has extended the lawmaker’s free medical outreach initiative to Lagos State, with plans to reach no fewer than 700 beneficiaries.
The outreach, which forms part of ongoing efforts to improve access to basic healthcare, is designed to support residents who may not be able to afford quality medical services. Beneficiaries are expected to receive consultations, medical tests, drugs, and other essential healthcare interventions at no cost.
According to organisers, the programme reflects the Senate President’s commitment to people-focused initiatives that address critical needs beyond legislative duties. The Lagos edition of the outreach was chosen to reach a densely populated area where access to affordable healthcare remains a challenge for many residents.
Speaking on the initiative, the aide noted that the exercise is aimed at easing the healthcare burden on vulnerable individuals, particularly the elderly, women, and low-income earners. He added that similar programmes have been successfully carried out in other parts of the country.
