Antar Laniyan – I Missed My Daughter’s Birth, Dad’s Burial for Acting
Veteran Nollywood actor and director Antar Laniyan has shared a deeply emotional revelation about the personal sacrifices he made in the course of building his career in the Nigerian film industry. In a recent interview, the seasoned actor disclosed that his passion for acting once cost him two of life’s most significant family moments — the birth of his daughter and the burial of his father.
According to Antar Laniyan, both events coincided with demanding film engagements that he couldn’t walk away from due to professional obligations and tight production schedules. “I was on set when my daughter was born. I wasn’t there to witness that precious moment,” he said. “And when my father passed, I was also caught up with filming. I couldn’t make it to his burial. That pain still stays with me.”
