Chelsea manager Antonio Conte sat down to address all the issues surrounding the club at Cobham this afternoon.
He provided updates on the injuries sustained by Alvaro Morata, Ross Barkley and Andreas Christensen. He also talked about Chelsea’s poor form and his plans to address the slump.
On the Blues poor form, he said: I think every single player knows very well our result and to improve the result. We have to play better than we did against Watford. Against Bournemouth we showed a lot, but Watford was completely negative.
He added: I think that in every situation you have to divide the situation, positive and negative. When you have this period with poor results you have to divide the responsibility, me, the players and the club
The manager also commented on his future, he said: I am not thinking for only one moment the possibility of going away from this club. My commitment and the players are totally for this club. A lot of time in football the manager and the coach depends on the result. At the moment we are having a poor result. For this reason we have to pay great attention.
The Blues boss also added that forward Morata might be out for the rest of the season but Pedro and Christensen should be both available for selection for their Premier League fixture.
Chelsea is set to face West Brom by 9pm on Monday night at Stamford Bridge. The Blues could be out of the top four before kick off if Tottenham Hotspur beats Arsenal at Wembley on Saturday. They currently lead fifth placed Spurs by one point and are 19 points behind league leaders Manchester City.
