Aston Villa Ends Premier League Three-Years Winning Drought
Dean Smith’s promoted side were already being written off as relegation bunch following their nervous start to the season. Wesley and Anwar El Ghazi, however, help their team fired past Everton on Friday securing a 2-0. After losing to Tottenham and Bournemouth in their first two games, Villa finally got their feet stand firm on the ground once again.
Wesley’s first goal lifted the mood at Villa Park while Anwar El Ghazi added the second in stoppage-time.
Everton paid the price for poor finishing as they wasted lots of chances to maintain their unbeaten run. Although Everton dominated the opening stages, it was Villa who took the lead in the 22nd minute.
