At There mother’s funeral, Kunle Afolayan and his brother Aremu make amends.
The Nigerian actor Aremu Afolayan and his other brother Kunle Afolayan have put an end to their long-running conflict.
During the wake-keepĀ for their mother, who died on November 2 at the age of 81, the reconciliation took place.
When Kunle called Aremu “stupid” in an interview in 2018, the brothers’ disagreement came to the attention of the public.
Despite Kunle’s celebrity, Aremu had stated that their father was impoverished.
Aremu has since attacked Kunle and other family members in a number of public outbursts.
The latest instance was in March 2023, when Aremu chastised his family for failing to purchase a car for him.
But Aremu revealed during their mother’s wake on Friday that their mother had tried several times to make amends with them prior to her death.
He explained how her efforts and prayers ultimately resulted in their reunion.
Aremu also expressed heartfelt regret for the attacks on Kunle in the media.
He claimed, “My mother made a lot of efforts because I had repeatedly escaped from her when they told me I had to go to school.”
“I declared that I would not be attending high school. I was punched by my brother Kunle for not wanting to attend school.
“What has been challenging for me for more than 40 years is what brings me the most delight today. My brother and I don’t talk, so my mother forced us to talk, so one day she gave it to me.
Because I, Aremu, am the family’s black sheep, she continued to pray. My brother has no justifications for saying that we are similar, thus I disagree with him.
The late great theater and film figure Ade Love is the father of the Afolayan brothers.
Anu Afolayan (brother), Gabriel Afolayan (brother), and Moji Afolayan (sister) are their other siblings.
