Attack on El-Rufai by APC Could Destabilize Nigeria – Okoroma Raises Alarm
Political analyst Okoroma has sounded a note of caution to the All Progressives Congress (APC), warning that the alleged attacks on former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, could pose a serious threat to Nigeria’s political stability.
Okoroma stressed that targeting El-Rufai, a strong voice within the party and a key political figure in the country, might trigger internal divisions capable of weakening APC’s structure ahead of future elections. According to him, such internal conflicts not only harm the party but could also spill over to affect Nigeria’s fragile democracy.
He further noted that El-Rufai’s influence, especially among the northern political bloc, makes him a figure whose alienation could lead to realignments that destabilize both the ruling party and the nation’s governance.
“Undermining El-Rufai is a dangerous game. APC must tread carefully,” Okoroma reportedly warned, urging the ruling party to embrace dialogue and reconciliation rather than confrontation.
This warning comes amid rising political tension and speculation over power struggles within the APC. Many observers believe the fallout could reshape Nigeria’s political landscape in the coming years if not properly managed.
