Badagry Indigenes Accuse Authorities of Victimisation, Demand Reinstatement of Sacked LASU Lecturers
Tension is rising in Lagos as indigenes of Badagry have accused the authorities of unfair victimisation following the controversial dismissal of several lecturers from Lagos State University (LASU). Community leaders and stakeholders are calling for the immediate reinstatement of the affected lecturers, insisting that the action was unjust and targeted.
According to the Badagry community, the sacked lecturers were dismissed without due process, transparency, or a fair hearing. They argue that the move represents a pattern of marginalisation against qualified indigenes despite their long-standing contributions to the institution. The group emphasised that LASU, being a state-owned university, must uphold equity and reflect the diverse communities of Lagos in its staffing decisions.
The indigenes are now demanding a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the lecturers’ dismissal, urging the Lagos State Government to intervene. They stress that restoring the lecturers’ positions will help rebuild trust, ensure justice, and reinforce LASU’s reputation as a centre of fairness and academic excellence.
