Bollywood Star Amitabh Bachchan – Tests Positive For COVID-19, Admitted To Hospital
Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has tested positive for the coronavirus and have been admitted to Nanavati hospital in Mumbai, India.
Bachchan announced his COVID-19 status in a Twitter post, saying his family and staff members have undergone tests and are now waiting for their results.
He also requested everyone who had come in contact with him over the last 10 days to get tested.
Several political leaders prayed for his speedy recovery and wished him good health.
Those who wished him inclduded former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Shoojit Sircar’s comedy-drama ‘Gulabo Sitabo’.
The film was initially going to be released in theaters, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming movies include Chehre, Brahmastra and Jhund.
Big B, as he is fondly called, has helped stranded migrants get back to their homes. He arranged special flights to help around 700 migrants to fly from Mumbai to Lucknow last month.
Bachchan also organised four special flights to send about 180 migrant workers in each of the flights.
