Breaking – Uk Government Officially Lift Ban As Premier League Return In June (Details)
On Monday, all 20 Premier League clubs will reconvene to discuss plans for ‘Project Restart’.
However, Boris Johnson’s go-ahead comes as up to eight Premier League clubs are expected to argue against the use of neutral venues and call for ‘Project Restart’ to be put back at a crucial meeting on Monday..
Some clubs threatened with relegation are said to be opposed to the prospect of playing crucial fixtures that could define their league status away from their home ground, even behind closed doors.
It is claimed that the initial number of clubs against the latest proposal is rising, with the report stating the amount has grown from six to eight, which is hugely significant.
The league needs 14 clubs (70 per cent) to side with the current proposal to pass the motion but there is a growing fear that threshold will not be met and a June 12 restart will be pushed back further.
The idea of scrapping relegation has thus far been firmly rejected by the Premier League and the EFL.
