Ilorin, Kwara State – The [Centre for Agricultural Development and Entrepreneurship (CADE)], in collaboration with the Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture, has successfully trained 50 youths in soybean tofu production. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to empower young entrepreneurs, create job opportunities, and enhance food security in the region. The week-long training program culminated in the distribution of start-up kits to all participants, enabling them to kickstart their businesses immediately.
Empowering the Next Generation of Agripreneurs
The training, held at the Kwara State Agricultural Training Institute in Ilorin, aimed to equip participants with the technical skills needed to produce high-quality soybean tofu, a nutritious and affordable protein source. The initiative was designed to address the growing demand for plant-based proteins while providing the youths with a sustainable means of livelihood.
Mr. Ahmed Abdullahi, the Executive Director of CADE, highlighted the significance of the program in his opening remarks. “This training is not just about teaching the technical aspects of tofu production; it’s about creating entrepreneurs who can contribute to the local economy and address food security challenges in Kwara State. We believe that by empowering our youth with these skills, we are investing in the future of our community,” he stated.
