Cristiano Ronaldo deprived Paulo Dybala of a stunning goal against Young Boys on Wednesday night – and subsequently a point for Juventus . Massimiliano Allegri’s men were 2-0 down in the Champions League clash in Switzerland, but pulled one back through the Argentinian on the 80th minute.
Juventus had already qualified but defeat to Young Boys threatened their place at the top of Group H.
Not knowing Manchester United were 2-0 down to Valencia, the Old Lady were desperately trying to rally back for a point- and they nearly got it.
After a Juventus corner was cleared in the 93rd minute, Dybala rifled in a superb effort from the edge of the box.
The 25-year-old wheeled away in delight but his celebrations were cut short – the offside flag was raised.
The decision was given because Ronaldo was in an offside position, apparently affecting the play.
Upon closer inspection, the five-time Ballon d’Or was in an offside position when Dybala struck the ball.
Ronaldo ducks when the ball rockets towards him before flicking his head back, as if he was trying to get a flick on.
Naturally, fans took to social media following the disallowed goal – with some claimed Dybala’s strike could have been the goal of the season.
Luckily for Ronaldo, Juventus losing didn’t affect their place at the top of Group H. United fell to a 2-1 defeat to Valencia.
