Chelsea considering £18m summer bid to sign 22-year-old La Liga powerhouse
Valencia 22-year-old star Mouctar Diakhaby has reportedly emerged as a shock transfer target for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea.
Diakhaby has just spent his first campaign at the Mestalla, with a total of 38 games being made for the Spanish side across all competitions.
However, according to L’Equipe, the Blues and Wolves are ready to approach for the Los Ches regarding a potential deal for their defender.
The West London club are currently unable to sign any players this summer following a transfer ban, although they may look to overturn that punishment via an appeal and still manage to strengthen their squad for the next campaign.
Wolves have secured a place in the Europa League qualifying rounds, and Nuno Espirito Santo is determined ot sign quality players for the next season.
Diakhaby – who is believed to be valued in the region of £18m – still has over four years left on his current deal.
Valencia youngster is not the only defender Chelsea are keeping close tabs for the summer. It is believed that the Blues are monitoring other highly-rated defenders including Napoli duo Kalidou Koulibaly and Elseid Jysaj, alongside CSKA’s Mario Fernandes and OGC Nice full-back Youcef Atal.
