Chelsea’s manager discusses his observations of Jadon Sancho following his departure from Manchester United.
Jadon Sancho, a striker for Manchester United, will spend the season on loan at Chelsea, where Blues manager Enzo Maresca will have a say over the English winger.
With Jadon Sancho, a striker on loan from Manchester United, set to make his Blues debut this weekend, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has shared his thoughts on the player’s first few months at Stamford Bridge.
Sancho, who spent the second part of the previous season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, signed with the West London club on deadline day. In Germany, the 24-year-old had moments of great play and advanced his old team to the Champions League final, where they were defeated by Real Madrid at Wembley.

Although he participated in United’s preseason training, the winger never looked like he would stay at Old Trafford. Sancho has had a difficult time since joining the Reds in 2021 and had a public falling out with Ten Hag last year.
However, the forward, who was born in London, is now looking forward to a fresh start in his hometown. Furthermore, after Sancho trained at Cobham during the international break, Maresca had his word about the Englishman.
Maresca remarked, “He has been exactly what I expected.” He is an excellent one-on-one player with great finishing touch. I have no doubt that he will assist us.
“I’m really excited to be here,” he stated after agreeing to a loan with the Blues. I grew raised in London, so I’m glad to be back.
“The initiative is interesting for a young player, as the manager mentioned to me. I hope to contribute aims and help to the Bridge.”
