Diddy’s lawyers to accuse Cassie of domestic violence at ‘sex trafficking’ trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to face trial in Manhattan federal court on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and related offenses. A central figure in the case is his former partner, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who is expected to be a key prosecution witness. In response, Combs’ legal team plans to argue that their past relationship involved mutual domestic violence, aiming to challenge Ventura’s credibility.

Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo has acknowledged instances of domestic violence between Combs and Ventura, asserting that the violence was mutual. This strategy seeks to counter Ventura’s allegations of coercion and abuse.

Ventura previously filed a lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, alleging rape, sex trafficking, and prolonged abuse during their decade-long relationship. The lawsuit was settled out of court shortly after its filing.

The trial is anticipated to last approximately eight weeks, with jury selection concluding and opening statements scheduled to begin on May 12.
