Eko Mi Awards Maiden Edition Set to Hold In Lagos

The maiden edition of Awards, celebrating individuals, groups and organizations that have contributed to the growth of Lagos State is set to hold on July 18, 2024 at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. An initiative of Eko Mi, Eko E magazine, the awards, according to the organizers is to celebrate and honor people of diverse fields, organizations and government agencies that have in one way or the other helped in the continuous positioning Lagos State as the pride of Nigeria and one of the fastest developing cities in the world. According to the publisher of the magazine, Bestman Jumbo-Nze, the awards are being instituted so as to place garlands on the deserving in Lagos and to show that those who are deserving do not go unnoticed or celebrated. Speaking further, he disclosed that while this is the maiden edition and has received a lot of commendations from individuals, the media community and corporate organizations, the intention is to make the awards an annual event. He further stated that the nominees and eventual winners went through a rigorous selection process and that only the deserving will be walking away on the day with the awards. According to him, ‘we are instituting this awards as a show of honor and celebration of the people who have contributed in various ways to the development of our state, we believe that either individuals, corporate organizations or those in public service, those who have been outstanding in their fields are worthy of being celebrated and honored.

The event promises to be one to be remembered for a long time as a lot of activities have been lined up to make the event special.

Eko Mi, Eko E is a grassroots magazine that commenced publication in December 2021. The magazine covers sports, entertainment, politics, business and cultural issues. It is distributed free in all the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas in Lagos.
