English football fans have reacted furiously after learning that the English FA are set to sell Wembley Stadium to Fulham owner Shahid Khan in a sensational £1billion deal.
Proposals from the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL chief for a deal worth around £1bn for the national stadium, which opened in 2007, has been heard by the English FA.
An upfront payment of £600m is expected from American billionaire Khan, while the FA could gross another £400m from match day revenue.
A poll carried out by SunSport shows over 70 per cent voted against the plans, which will still see the FA keeping Wembley as the main home for major matches, including England internationals and the FA Cup Final.
Once the deal is approved, the English national team could be forced to go “on the road” around the country in October and November due to clashes with the NFL season.
The news has been received by fans who find it hard to believe that the FA is about to sell off their showcase stadium to an American owner.

@morgTHE_claude: If the FA sell Wembley I will be fuming. England needs a home of Football. And we would be pushed out by an American Football team! Smh.
