Director MattMax is a Nigerian

 music video director, cinematographer, commercial director and filmmaker. Mattmax is the CEO  and owner of Mattmax Productions. He has written and directed music videos for numerous artists across an array of genres including Timaya, Terry-G, Olamide, Burna boy, J.martins, Habida, Dj Xclusice, Dj Spinall, Omawumi, Waje to mention but a few.’

Born to Christian parents and christened Matthew Abiodun Aina.

He studied Computer Science at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. After which he journeyed into visual effects. He took his passion in the arts further by relentlessly surfing the internet for knowledge. According to him, “Everything I know today is self taught, stumbling on the internet here and there”.

After a year of rigorous self study, Mattmax was approached by an artiste (Slim Joe) to direct his single (O ti yanyan) He intepreted the video beyond the artiste’s expectation and the video enjoyed massive airplay. Having seen his  job on TV, Mattmax decided never to stop. Years after, He shot Olamide’s “Voice of the street” D Banj “Don’t tell me nonsense” which put him on the spotlight till date. His videos has received several nominations and awards. Mattmax continues to work with artists in all genres such as grammy nominated Burna Boy, Timaya and so on and has been acclaimed as one of Nigeria’s most respected and creative director.
