“Excited to play with Osimhen, Lookman, and others.” Arokodare, a fiery striker eligible for the Super Eagles
Tolu Arokodare, a Super Eagles hopeful, has stated how excited he is about the possibility of playing with Nigerian football players like Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen.
The former Amiens SC player is currently playing at a high level in the Jupiler Pro League. He recently scored two goals against Royal Antwerp, bringing his total to 14 goals in 23 games and 13 goals in 20 domestic league games.
In the meantime, Arokodare is eager to apply this success to the Super Eagles national team, where he aims to wear the Eagles’ colors with the CAF Player of the Year winners in 2023 and 2024.
Arokodare considers being called up by the Super Eagles
With 13 goals for KRC Genk, Arokodare is presently the Nigerian with the most goals in the top 10 leagues in the world. Alex Iwobi has five goals, Victor Boniface has six, Lookman has nine, and Osimhen has ten.
Under the direction of new head coach Eric Chelle, the Super Eagles will play Rwanda and Zimbabwe in an attempt to qualify for the 2026 World Cup at all costs.
Given Arokodare’s outstanding statistics, it is recommended that he be considered for a call-up to the national squad if the former FC Koln forward maintains this excellent play.
However, Arokodare disclosed in an interview with Soccernet.ng that he has not yet received a call from a representative of the Nigeria Football Federation. He is nevertheless upbeat, saying that if he keeps working hard, the chance will ultimately present itself.
“I haven’t heard from anyone yet. I believe if I work hard enough and keep on the course I am now, it [Super Eagles call-up] will definitely come,” Arokodare said.
Super Eagles, Osimhen, and Lookman
Arokodare, his countryman, has recently received praise from Victor Osimhen for his outstanding efforts with KRC Genk this season. The forward for Napoli, who has been keeping a careful eye on Arokodare’s comeback in Belgium, praised the big striker for his impressive development.
Lookman has maintained his impressive play on the international front, winning the African Player of the Year title and placing 14th in the Ballon d’Or rankings to garner international acclaim.
Arokodare has called these two Super Eagles players his favorites and has shown his respect for them.
If he is invited to play for the national team, he is excited to take the field alongside Osimhen, Lookman, and other Super Eagles players,
Osimhen [Victor]! I am very excited to play with him. Additionally, the Super Eagles of Nigeria appear to be a close-knit group of players, including [Ademola] Lookman. It will be pleasant to connect with them and get into that atmosphere. He went on.
Arokodare desires more
Arokodare, who scored 15 goals in a successful season the previous year, thinks he can still go more.
As he explains the driving force for his outstanding achievements this season, the Super Eagles-eligible attacker is committed to improving even further.
“Wanting to improve.” Even though my 15 goals from the previous season weren’t bad, I’m my own worst critic and I know I can do better. The 24-year-old striker stated.
In an attempt to increase their lead at the top of the Belgian league rankings, Genk will welcome Oud-Heverlee Leuven at the Cegeka Arena on Saturday. A standout for Thorsten Fink’s forces, Arokodare will be hoping to go on where he left off.
