Former President Buhari’s Remains Laid to Rest in Daura
Nigeria has bid farewell to one of its most influential political figures as the remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari were laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State. The solemn burial ceremony was attended by family members, political leaders, dignitaries, and citizens who gathered to pay their last respects.
Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and later as a democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023, passed away after a brief illness, according to a statement from the family. His remains were interred at the Daura Central Cemetery after the Janazah prayer at the Emir of Daura’s palace mosque.
