Gov Ortom Of Benue Recovers From COVID-19, Resumes Office
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has on Wednesday, February 3 resumed work after recovering from COVID-19.
Ortom, who was confirmed positive for COVID-19 over a week ago, told journalists during a news conference in Makurdi, that a fresh test result carried out on him returned negative on Tuesday.
The governor recalled that he went into isolation after most of his close aides tested positive for the virus.
He thanked all people of Benue State and beyond for upholding him in prayers while away to attend to his health.
Governor Ortom stressed the need for everyone to go for test to ascertain their COVID-19 status while urging Benue people to continue to observe the protocol for the prevention of the virus.
The governor further emphasised on the wearing of face masks, use of sanitizers, regular hand washing and physical distancing.
He encouraged residents of the state not to be afraid of going for COVID-19 test as only doing so would help in containing the spread of the disease.
