The 7th edition of the Art of Technology Lagos (AOT 7.0) gathered top government officials, policymakers, innovators, and private-sector leaders to discuss strategies for building a sustainable and future-ready Lagos. Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Minister of Solid Minerals Dele Alake, and Minister of Communications & Digital Economy Bosun Tijani all emphasized the need for technology-driven solutions capable of transforming the state’s infrastructure, governance, and environmental resilience.
Speaking at the event, Hamzat highlighted Lagos’ commitment to advancing smart city initiatives, climate adaptation, and tech-enabled public services. He stressed that sustainability cannot be achieved without innovation, data-driven planning, and consistent investment in digital infrastructure. This aligns with Lagos’ broader vision to position itself as Africa’s leading tech hub.
Alake and Tijani also reinforced the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector. They pointed out that building a sustainable Lagos requires practical policies that support startups, unlock green investment opportunities, and empower young innovators. With Lagos serving as a major economic engine for Nigeria, speakers at AOT 7.0 urged stakeholders to adopt long-term thinking and embrace technology as the foundation for the state’s future growth.
