Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has responded to claims that he convinced Chilean international Alexis Sanchez to leave the Gunners for a move to Manchester United.
The former Barcelona star moved to Manchester United in a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan on Monday, January 22, and said that he left for the “same reason” as Henry.
The French legend left Arsenal in 2007 over an inability to compete for trophies moving to Barcelona where he won two La Liga titles and the Champions League.
In his prickly message on social media, Sanchez said:”I remember today, a conversation I had with Henry, a historic Arsenal player, who changed club for the same reason and today is my turn.”
Arsenal fans have been attacking Thierry Henry because of Alexis Sanchez’s statement, and the Frenchman has responded claiming he never had any conversation with Sanchez.
Earlier, AMONPOINT had reported how Manchester United finally unveiled new signing Alexis Sanchezat Old Trafford with Armenian creative midfielder Henrikh Mkjotaryan heading to Arsenal.
The Old Trafford outfit took to their social media handles to confirm the former Arsenal star had signed for the club with Sanchez playing “Glory Glory Man United” on the piano.
Alexis Sanchez has been given the jersey number at Manchester United.
