How My Relocation To Canada Was Forced By The Government And My Coworkers – Tijani
The well-known Yoruba actor Adekola Tijani, better known by his stage name Kamilu Kompo, has finally addressed the mounting controversy surrounding his move to Canada and clarified his reasons for leaving Nigeria.
The actor stated that he left Nigeria due to difficulties he encountered with the Nigerian government, fellow film industry professionals, the Nigerian Film Censorship Board, and movie marketers, despite popular belief that he left for a better life abroad. There were sporadic minor disagreements with both my industry colleagues and the Nigerian government. I had to move for that reason. It was more about conquering the challenges I encountered in Nigeria than it was about pursuing a better life, Tijani said.
The performer thanked the Ontario government for welcoming him and presenting him with a recognition award. He expressed gratitude to important Canadians, such as Patrick Brown, the mayor of Brampton, for their support.”My family and I are grateful to God for our acceptance and the opportunity to remain in the country, as well as for finding favor in the eyes of the Ontario government,” he stated.
Additionally, Tijani addressed the misleading notions propagated by some media outlets and bloggers. He said that Mr. Bamidele Adeyemi, the Editor-in-Chief of The Conquest magazine and online, had alerted him to false claims that he had moved just in search of a better life.
He thanked Mr. Maurice Imadu, the event organizer, and Dewitt’s Lee Consultants in an Instagram post for the recognition award he received for his perseverance and hard work. He also thanked his co-awardees, Lola Alao, Ayodeji Oluwasola, and Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, for their support and encouragement throughout his transformation.
At the event, Muyiwa Ademola, Kunle Afod, and Esther Kalejaye Eniola were among the other recipients of honors.
To sum up, Tijani is still appreciative of the friendly welcome he and his family got in Canada. The fact that the city of Brampton recognized him is evidence of his tenacity and diligence, traits that have defined his life in Nigeria and beyond.
