‘I Regret My Decisions With Women’ – Ice Prince
Nigerian rapper Panshak Henry Zamani, known professionally as Ice Prince, has candidly opened up about his past relationships, expressing regret over certain decisions he made with women. In various interviews and social media posts, the artist has reflected on his romantic experiences, acknowledging missteps and the emotional toll they have taken on him.
In a 2017 interview with Punch Newspapers, Ice Prince addressed rumors surrounding his breakup with French-Ghanaian girlfriend Maima Nkewa. Contrary to public speculation that Maima had been unfaithful, Ice Prince clarified that he was the one at fault. “She didn’t cheat on me. I never caught her cheating and I never suspected her to be cheating on me. I was the one that messed up,” he admitted, choosing not to elaborate further on the specifics of his actions.
This admission was significant, as it highlighted Ice Prince’s willingness to take responsibility for his role in the relationship’s demise. His openness about personal shortcomings provided a rare glimpse into the vulnerabilities that often accompany public figures.
Earlier, in 2016, Ice Prince had taken to Twitter to express his frustrations with love, stating, “My ex-girl made me hate love.” This sentiment underscored the emotional challenges he faced in the aftermath of his relationships, particularly with Maima. Ice Prince’s romantic history includes high-profile relationships with notable figures such as Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson and Nigerian fashion designer Yvonne Nwosu. His relationship with Yvonne Nelson ended due to their demanding schedules, which left little time for each other. “She is a very, very busy person, she was busier than I was at that time. I am a very busy person as well,” he explained in a 2014 interview with Vanguard News.
Despite these challenges, Ice Prince has expressed a desire to find lasting love. In a 2019 appearance on Beat FM’s ‘Morning Rush,’ he declared, “I’m looking for a wife now, I’m not trying to play games anymore,” indicating a shift towards seeking a more serious, committed relationship.
However, his journey toward finding love has not been without complications. In 2024, media personality Moet Abebe claimed they had been in a 12-year relationship, a statement Ice Prince promptly refuted. He clarified that he was not in a committed relationship at the time and emphasized the importance of mutual respect in his interactions with women. “I don’t go around with holes. If you see me with a woman, she’s probably someone that I so much respect,” he stated in an interview with The DateBizz.
These experiences have led Ice Prince to approach relationships with caution. In a 2019 tweet, he confessed, “I’m too scared of love because I don’t want to fail again,” highlighting the lingering impact of past heartbreaks on his willingness to open up emotionally.
Beyond his romantic endeavors, Ice Prince has faced significant personal challenges. He lost his father at the age of 11 and his mother at 21, leaving him without parental support during critical periods of his life. Financial constraints also hindered his educational aspirations; he missed out on a university admission due to an inability to raise N20,000 for fees. “I didn’t go to the University because of N20,000. I had about two weeks to pay that money but I couldn’t raise it on time,” he revealed in a 2024 interview.
Despite these hardships, Ice Prince has channeled his experiences into his music, using his platform to share his story and inspire others. His candid reflections on love, loss, and personal growth resonate with many, offering a nuanced perspective on the complexities of human relationships.
As he continues to evolve both personally and professionally, Ice Prince remains open about his journey, acknowledging past mistakes while striving for a better future. His story serves as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the ongoing pursuit of self-improvement.
