Popular Nigerian comedian Ijoba Lande has taken to social media to cry out over an alleged blackmail attempt involving an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated video. According to him, some individuals are attempting to extort ₦5 million, claiming to have a video that shows him in bed with a senator’s wife.
Ijoba Lande explained that the so-called video is not real but a deepfake created using AI technology. He expressed shock and dismay that anyone would go to such lengths to tarnish his reputation and destroy his career.
In his words, the comedian emphasized that he has never been involved with any politician’s wife, insisting that the alleged footage is fabricated. He further revealed that the blackmailers threatened to release the fake video online if he failed to pay the demanded amount.
