I’m Not Bothered If Supporting Amotekun Will Cost Me Second Term Ambition – Akeredolu
Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has stated that he isn’t disturbed over whether ‘Operation Amotekun’ may have an effect on his probabilities of having a second term in office.
According to Sahara Reporters, Akeredolu, who is Chairman of South West Governors Forum, stated he was only on the course of countrywide cohesion with the collaborative internal safety by using the formation of Amotekun and now not for any political ambition.
In a statement by means of his spokesman, Donald Ojogo, the Ondo State governor said that he will no longer be discouraged with the aid of the de-advertising of the nearby security outfit aimed toward addressing the daunting protection challenges inside the South-West.
He stated, “In the case of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) of Ondo State, it’s far pertinent to country that he isn’t perturbed by the viable results of leading governors of the South-West within the formation of Amotekun.
“In particular, fears and apprehension were expressed in many quarters that his role inside the formation of Amotekun could affect his second term chances.
“This is far from the truth due to the fact Governor Akeredolu is on the route of countrywide brotherly love thru collaborative internal safety.
“The selection taken in recognize of Amotekun was within the interest of the entire u . S . and not the South-West alone.
“The political insinuations and blackmail are the desired ingredients needed to make it credible. But such will no longer discourage the governor in any manner.”
