In the third bail hearing, Diddy’s legal team will summon six escorts as witnesses
As part of their defense strategy for Sean “Diddy” Combs’ impending federal trial. Sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy are among the main charges at the trial, which is scheduled for May 2025. On Sunday, November 24, AllHipHop broke the story first, exposing that escorts who were present at Diddy’s notorious “freak-off parties” are testifying as part of his legal strategy.
The 51-year-old music magnate and father of seven is currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center while he awaits a judge’s ruling on his third bail request. If accepted, Diddy would have to live in Manhattan, the city where he was first taken into custody in September.
The escorts’ testimony will be used by Diddy’s legal team to refute the accusations made by the prosecution. The defense argues that these witnesses could refute allegations of systemic abuse made possible by Diddy’s companies and staff. But according to the prosecution, these six people are really a small portion of the witnesses that were present. One prosecutor alluded to the scope of the suspected operations by saying, “Six escorts are only the beginning.”
Diddy faces numerous counts, such as bribery, drug-related offenses, kidnapping, arson, and obstruction of justice. He faces a life sentence if found guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by compulsion, fraud, or force. While a separate charge of transportation for prostitution could result in a sentence of up to 10 years, the latter charge carries a required minimum term of 15 years.
In addition to his legal issues, the court is investigating claims that Diddy tried to contact witnesses in violation of jail procedures. His chances of obtaining bail prior to the trial may be impacted by these allegations.
Diddy has apparently stayed upbeat despite his legal troubles. During a call, he expressed his satisfaction in his children’s accomplishments as they celebrated his birthday. But prosecutors have accused him of using this same call to orchestrate intimidation tactics. As the trial approaches in the Spring of next year, Diddy’s defense team is preparing for a high-stakes battle to counter the serious accusations against the music mogul.
