It has been reported that Rich Homie Quan, 34, passed away.
Rich Homie Quan, a rapper from Atlanta whose true name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, reportedly passed away today, September 5, at the age of 34.
According to Quan’s family and “a rep for the Fulton County morgue,” the rapper passed away at his Atlanta residence, according to TMZ. The cause of death is yet unknown.
Quan made his debut with his 2013 hit song, “Type Of Way.” “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” a triple platinum track that peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 list and has over 300 million Spotify plays to date, is his biggest solo hit from 2015. 2018 saw the release of Rich As In Spirit, his one and only album. The 2022 EP Family & Mula is the most recent release from him.
Alongside Young Thug, he was a member of the Cash Money Records collective Rich Gang. The two had a top-20 success together with “Lifestyle.” Alongside Jeezy, Quan contributed to YG’s “My N****,” which peaked at number 20 as well.
On X (formerly Twitter), former collaborator Jacquees expressed her sadness about Quan’s loss by saying, “Rest in Peace, my brother Rich Homie Quan.” I will always love you. Additionally, Boosie tweeted, “JUST TALKED TO YOU BRA.” #tipQUAN Never forget your grin, your mannerisms, and your music, of course. We cooked up some sh*t too.
