The award-winning author of the best-selling book “My Sister, the Serial Killer,” Oyinkan Braithwaite, has revealed “Cursed Daughters,” her second book. Better yet, Atlantic Books, the publishing company that made her incredible debut possible, has signed on to the future book.
You will undoubtedly be enthralled by the synopsis of “Cursed Daughters”: The narrative centers on Eniiyi, a young woman whose family has been afflicted by a generational curse that is claimed to “break hearts and ruin families.”
After saving a lovely kid from drowning, Eniiyi, who remarkably resembles her late aunt, falls in love. However, as her family’s bizarre beliefs—and their insistence that she is her aunt’s reincarnation—loom large, Eniiyi starts to wonder if she can escape the curse and the enigmatic tragedy that befell her aunt, or if she is doomed to repeat her family’s tragic history. “Cursed Daughters” promises to be an engrossing and poignant read, with themes of love, generational trauma, and superstition.
