JUST IN: Marketers Reveals Petrol Price at Port Harcourt Refinery
The price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as gasoline, from the freshly reopened Port Harcourt Refinery has been made public by oil marketers.
The Port Harcourt refinery will charge N1,030 per litre for its petrol, according to the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN).
Following weeks of conjecture over the refinery’s gasoline price, this information was finally revealed. Although the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) had previously declared that the refinery was operating at maximum efficiency, the cost of the facility’s gasoline was not made public.
PETROAN spokesperson Joseph Obele said in a statement Thursday night that the NNPC informed the organization that the price of a liter of premium motor spirit at the renovated refinery is N1,030. Obele went on to say that the PMS price at the Port Harcourt refinery was formally announced by NNPC Retail Ltd. and that reservations and requests could be made via the product request webpage.
The strategic pricing team at PETROAN is presently analyzing the best price for its members, the company further disclosed. “We are open to patronizing all of the refineries in Nigeria,” Obele said.
In order to provide Nigerians with a joyous Yuletide celebration, the organization also encouraged NNPC Retail to further lower the price.
“We state emphatically that the old Port Harcourt refinery is functional and producing refined petroleum products at the moment,” Obele said in response to allegations that the refinery was not operating as advertised. The refinery is now running at 70% of its installed capacity, he continued, with plans to ramp up to 90%.
