Lagos State Government Shuts Down Schools Over Wild #EndSARS Protests
The Governor together with top officials acted on a directive from the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo.
The announcement was made yesterday, Monday 19th October 2020 through a press statement by Kayode Abayomi, the state’s Head of Public Affairs of the Ministry of Education.

“The Lagos State Government has directed all pupils/students in public and private schools to stay at home following the tension generated by the anti-SARS protests.
A new date of resumption for all classes will be announced as soon as possible.”
According to the commissioner it has become necessary for schools to be closed in Lagos state as the protest threatens the safety of the pupils and staff of every school. In light of this students are to stay home until further notice. She charged parents to keep an eagle eye on their wards so as to not allow them get comprised into being used to boycott the protest.
She also suggested teachers and heads of all schools to return to virtual learning as they did during the coronavirus and lockdown period.
