LIKE FATHER LIKE SON?? Luis Suarez Receives BITE From Son After Barcelona Secure La Liga Title
Barcelona capped off a dominant domestic campaign by wrapping-up the La Liga title with a 1-0 win over Levante on Saturday.
Lionel Messi came off the bench to score the only goal of the game as Ernesto Valverde’s side were crowned Spanish champions for the 26th time.
The Catalan giants now host Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday as they continue their quest to claim their sixth European title and their first since 2015.
Although most of the focus should have been on the achievements of Barcelona players, who secured back-to-back league titles, Luis Suarez’s son Lautaro managed to steal the show during the post-match celebrations.
The six-month-old baby showed that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree as he was spotted taking a bite out of his father’s shoulder while being carried around the pitch.
Many were quick to notice that the comical image drew a resemblance to the infamous moment Suarez bit Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini during the 2014 World Cup.
Although Suarez did not receive a punishment during the game, the incident resulted in the Uruguayan striker, who was at Liverpool at the time but joined Barcelona shortly after, being banned for four months.
It was not the first time the 32-year-old had gotten himself in trouble for such an incident.
Only a year earlier, Suarez was handed a 10-game ban after he was spotted sinking his teeth into Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic’s arm during a Premier League match at Anfield.
He also received a seven-game suspension during his time with Dutch side Ajax after biting PSV Eindhoven’s Otman Bakkal in 2010.
Suarez is set to feature against his former club Liverpool on Wednesday and started the title-winning game at the Nou Camp.
However, he wasn’t able to find the net as Messi came on to net his 34th La Liga goal of the season just after the hour mark.
