Manchester United Offer Ashely Young One-year Contract Extension
Manchester United have offered Ashley Young a one-year deal, while talks are ongoing with Ander Herrera.
Manchester United are trying to tie up the futures of their out-of-contract players – but negotiations have stalled over the failure to agree terms with Ashley Young, Juan Mata and Herrera
De Gea is now United’s main focus, with executive vice chairman Ed Woodward determined to resolve the goalkeeper’s future before a permanent manager is appointed at the end of the season.
But deals for Young, Mata and Herrera are still to be agreed, with all three able to talk with foreign clubs from now.
The one-year deals offered to Young and Mata reflect their age – 33 and 30 respectively – but neither has been accepted.
Herrera, at 29, is likely to be offered longer terms – particularly after becoming a pivotal part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s midfield.
