MC Orobo chastises VeryDarkMan for his “childish” remark regarding the feud between EeZee Tee and Mercy Chinwo.
Social media critic VeryDarkMan has come under fire from Nigerian comedian MC Orobo for commenting on the recent conflict between singer Mercy Chinwo and her previous record company, Eezee Concept.
A screenshot of an email purportedly issued by Eezee Concept to Mercy Chinwo, accusing her of violating their contract, was recently released by VeryDarkMan.
The social media star expressed his thoughts about the feud as well. MC Orobo, meanwhile, called VeryDarkMan’s position “childish and baseless,” claiming that he is ignorant of music rights and record label contracts.
MC Orobo questioned why no one was praising Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the founder of Eezee Concept, and stated that artists “have the right to buy out their catalog over time.”
VeryDarkMan was also counseled by the comic to “take the back seat” and educate himself on the subject.
When Mercy Chinwo left the label, she started a fight with Eezee Concept. She claimed that Onyedikachukwu had taken advantage of her and taken almost $345,000 from her events and digital platforms without telling anyone about the transactions or paying her part.
The claims were refuted by Onyedikachukwu, also known as EeZee Tee, but Chinwo insisted that she was a victim of contract fraud.
In response, the head of the record label demanded an audit in the face of financial malfeasance claims.
