NAFDAC Alert: Indomie Clarifies Affected Noodles Were Not Produced or Sold in Nigeria
Indomie Nigeria has issued an official clarification following a recent alert by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) concerning certain noodle products reportedly linked to safety concerns. According to the company, the affected noodles referenced in the alert were not produced, distributed, or sold within Nigeria, reassuring consumers about the safety of Indomie products available in the country.
The clarification comes amid growing public concern after NAFDAC raised awareness about specific noodle brands and variants discovered outside Nigeria. Indomie Nigeria emphasized that all its products manufactured locally comply strictly with Nigerian food safety standards and are subject to continuous regulatory oversight. The company added that its production facilities operate under internationally recognised quality control systems to ensure consumer safety at all times.
NAFDAC also reinforced the importance of verifying product origins, noting that the alert was precautionary and targeted at imported or foreign-manufactured products not approved for the Nigerian market. Consumers were advised to purchase food items only from trusted vendors and to check NAFDAC registration numbers on packaged foods.
Indomie Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and public health, urging Nigerians to rely on verified information and official statements. The company assured customers that Indomie noodles sold in Nigeria remain safe for consumption and fully compliant with regulatory requirements.
