Obi clarified that he has never met with Trump, nor did he request foreign intervention in Nigeria’s affairs. He described the reports linking him to Trump’s involvement as “fabrications,” aimed at undermining his integrity and diverting attention from pressing issues such as rising insecurity, economic hardship, and corruption under the current administration.
The former Anambra State governor accused the government of using smear tactics to silence dissent and shift blame. He urged Nigerians to disregard the false narratives and remain focused on demanding accountability and real solutions to the country’s challenges.
Obi’s response comes as Nigeria remains under global scrutiny, particularly after controversial remarks from Trump regarding alleged persecution of religious groups in the country remarks that sparked fears of foreign intervention.
